Practice Management / Conflict Checks

Conflict checks that look everywhere

One check searches names and keywords across accounts and contacts, matters and their related parties, leads, opportunities, connections and the documents in your legal DMS, then rates every hit so your team reviews what matters first.

Every source at onceAccounts, contacts, matters, related parties, leads, opportunities, connections and DMS documents.
Rated by riskStrong, medium and weak, with the reason for each hit.
Clear, block or noteDecide on each hit and keep an audit trail of who decided what.
Names and keywordsAdd former names, directors, family members or keywords such as a project, property or deal name.
01

One search across your whole practice

Run a check on a matter, lead or request. The client, the other parties and the related parties are checked automatically. Add more names, such as former names, directors, family members or the other side’s lawyers, and search by keyword too: a project, property address, transaction or anything else that should ring a bell.

  • Keyword search alongside names, across records and document content
  • Accounts and contacts, including the companies a person is connected to
  • Matters and their related parties: opponents, witnesses, experts, insurers and counsel
  • Leads, opportunities and connections from CRM
  • Document names and content in the SharePoint DMS, including filed emails

Hits rated so the risky ones come first

Every possible conflict is rated and explained in plain words, for example: “Acme Holdings Limited (company of Antony Clarke, client here) is Opposing Party on matter 01029”.

  • Strong: on the other side elsewhere, such as your client being an opposing party on another matter, or the other way round
  • Medium: the side is unknown, or found through a connection, a similar name, a lead or a document’s file name
  • Weak: the same side elsewhere, a witness or expert, or a document that mentions the name
  • Restricted matters show only their number, so a conflict check never exposes confidential details

Review, decide and report

Work through the list with filters for hits that need review, are blocked or are cleared. Clear, block or add a note to each one, clear all weak hits at once, run the check again when details change, and produce a report for the file.

  • Needs review, blocked, cleared and all, plus strong, medium and weak filters
  • Documents tab listing every DMS file that mentions a checked name
  • Last run date and who ran it, recorded on the check
  • One-click report for the matter file or risk team
Run again, report, and filter by status and rating
